Gender Gap

A lot of people get quite worked up about the gender gap. It seems to be quite a big deal. However, women not made to be equal with men. It goes right back to the very beginning. Adam and Eve were not both created. Adam was created and then God put Adam to sleep and took a rib from Adam and made Eve out of it. God did not make them equal. He made Eve to be a help meet for Adam. So God made women to not be equal with men, but to help them. Also, God made women to be in subjection and not to be above, or even equal to the man. In 1 Timothy 2:11-15
1 Timothy 2:11-15 11Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety
This scripture talks about how women are not meant to be equal, but to be in subjection and to not be above a man. A lot of women these days think they should be equal with men if not above. This is very contrary to scripture. Also a lot of women 'wear the pants' in their home. This means that they are the head of the home. This is not only outlined in verse 12 in the passage above (where it says '...nor to usurp authority over a man...' but also in Ephesians 5:23 ('For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church...'). Women should not try to fight for gender equality because all they are doing is going against the Word of God.

However I do not believe that women should be treated as doormats. They should be treated with respect. What I am saying, is that women should not be equal or higher then men. They should not be the head of the house, or even 'the neck that turns the head'.

You might ask why this post has so much scripture in it, it is because if the Bible doesn't say something about it, it is not important to me.

  1. But doesn't the Bible also say, "Love your neighbor as yourself."? wouldn't that mean treating said neighbor as an equal? I think you may be taking these texts a little out of context. Yes women are meant to respect their husbands, but the husband is meant to respect his wife as well. God made Eve because Adam was all alone and needed companionship. She was meant to help him out but not as and underling. The Bible also says that man and woman become of one flesh in marriage. This means that man and woman become one and that they are both integral parts of each others lives. So woman was not made to serve man, she was made to complete him.
